“The Secret” Class

April 9, 2007
7:00 pmto9:00 pm

Mondays March 19 –April 9  $10.00

A major principle taught and practiced in the teaching of the Science of Mind is the “Law of Attraction”. The new movie “The Secret” has taken this life changing principle to the world with the help of the Oprah show and the movie’s visionaries such as Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Dr. Michael Beckwith and more. If you would like to learn more about the secret and how to apply it to your life, join Co-Pastors Christy & Renee at the Center For Positive Living for this four week class. In each class we will listen to a portion of the book on CD and discuss the practical application as well as any questions or difficulties you may have in using this powerful tool in your life. Life is for you! Come and be reminded how to hold that truth at the center of your day everyday and live happy, healthy and free.

Meditation Society

meditation.thumbnail.jpgScouring the Internet for resources on meditation, I found this site http://www.meditationsociety.com/. It is a free site that promotes the virtues of meditation and includes many different modalities.  A great resource for beginners or even someone more experienced as I had not heard of some of the other techniques mentioned. You can print their free newsletter to get an idea of the different types of meditation.

I actually had someone tell me that meditation was not christian and that it involved praying to Buddha or some god. This could not be farther from the truth and is an outright lie perpetuated by ignorant people. When you meditate you are clearing your mind of the the everyday junk and focusing on a single thought, image, idea, etc. That idea can be anything you want or even total emptiness.  If you are Christian, a good meditation might be to focus on some of the teachings of Jesus, or a line from the bible. Anything that helps your mind stop it’s internal chatter will help. Some people say the word “one” or “love” over and over in their heads. Others might visualize a tropical island, or even heaven. Don’t let others scare you from finding inner peace…  don’t let someone else’s mind be your limitation.

20 minute preview of the Secret

For those of you who have not seen ”The Secret”, it is a very empowering movie that focuses on the idea that our minds create our reality in the physical world. .. or as they say in the movie “thoughts are things“.  ”The Secret” focuses on the “Law of Attraction” which says that what we think about effects our emotions, which in turn effects what we attract to us.

If you are negative you will attract more negative events to you, but if you generate feelings of joy and gratitude, you will attract positive events and things in your life.

Easier said than done… However, watch the movie several times until it “sinks in” If anything, it has helped me learn to take responsibility for my own thoughts and actions. . . and that’s not a bad thing.
You can buy the Secret book or DVD at the vuvee.com online store.

Here is a 20 minute preview of the “The Secret” :
